Want To Track My Comments

Sometimes I come across a blog post and feel like leaving a comment there, or asking its author some question. But the problem is that after a while I forget where did I comment and which blog was it in. So I hope they can develop a method in order to track the comments I left here are there. You know, some kind of comments book-marking or searching for my name in the other blogs comment section. Let me think for a solution, and may be there is one out there already. Tags: , ,

  2. I think the comments are searchable by google. If you search for your name, the results should include the pages that you left a comment in.
    Isn't that right or what?

  3. Hi, I tried to search for my name but didn't find anything except my own blog and web page. Also there must be some organized method to do so and to display the comments by date or so.

  7. I have the same problem and I just do the same thing as mother courage does, I add the blogger to my favorite list for a couple of days till I read the comment reply... If I like his/her post, I keep him/her, if not I simply delete the name.

I have another problem but I am working on it. Sometimes when people comment on old post, I notice their comment "ba3d el hana bi sana". I'd like to have a list of the recent comments in my sidebar, however, I am still new in the HTML world:)

  8. I am having some code here in order to see the recent comments. You can see it on the side bar.
I got this code from http://bloggerhacks.blogspot.com/

  11. Some blogs offer RSS feeds of their comments, would like it myself but I don't know how to do it with Blogger. E-mail alerts when someone replies is also possible, but I don't have a clue how.

But to trace the comments you leave yourself, the easiest work around is probably to bookmark each place you've been to in a special folder in Firefox or Netscape and then open the whole folder while you're making a cup of coffe, each bookmark will display in a tab of its own. But you still need to browse every comment page and look for answers.

Another way is - I admit, my favorite activity - to do some link-whoring. You make your comment and end it by entering your URL. That way people don't have to click on your profile to get to your blog. The link you entered will also be picked up by search engines and ranking systems. And -here is the beauty- if you search your URL on blogsearch or talkdigger etc., most of your linkwhoring activities will be picked up and displayed.

    Oh! I almost forgot:

  12. I am also interested about this, I wonder if Google do this on purpose to isolate all authors, they are creepy, it is possible.

  13. One of the ways is to subscribe to the comments you posted, and then system will send you a email if there is a reply, then you have a email with blog address to track back. But what if there is no reply? Then I don't know.
